Buncombe Partnership for Children contributes over $1 million to the Child Care Subsidy program, which provides financial assistance to eligible families for for child care vouchers.
In order to receive a child care voucher, families should contact the Department of Social Services (DSS) in order to schedule an appointment and confirm their eligibility. Once a voucher is issued, families are free to choose a 4-or 5-star child care provider that best meets their needs, as long as the provider chosen participates in the Subsidized Child Care Program.
Child care providers are reimbursed per child at a rate set by the state. Parents must pay a fee of 10% of gross monthly income for all vouchers. Vouchers are available for full-time, part-time or wrap-around care for Early Head Start and NC Pre-K.
