Center and Family Child Care Home Directors Meeting, Dinner and 2020 Census
Come connect and share a free meal with fellow center and family child care home directors and hear about the 2020 census and the impact it has on funding for early care and education programs.
“Every ten years, the Census is taken, to get an accurate count of residents in the U.S. The Census impacts the amount of federal funding states and counties receive for programs like Medicaid, WIC, Child Care and Development Fund, Head Start/Early Head Start, and more! The 2020 Census is fast approaching and North Carolina could lose about $1,600 in federal funding, per year, for each uncounted resident. Young children are often missed in this count. As trusted messengers, Early Care and Education providers can bring awareness and educational resources to the families we work with and help get a more accurate count of young children in the upcoming Census! Anja and Whitney will provide resources and discuss simple steps directors can take back to their centers.”
Date/Time: March 26th from 6:30pm to 7:45pm
Location: Buncombe Partnership for Children, 2229 Riverside Drive, Asheville, NC 28804
