In-Person- Stewards of Children: Child Sexual Abuse Prevention

May 24 @ 6:15 pm - 8:15 pm

- $10.00
Learn to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.

WHAT IS STEWARDS OF CHILDREN®

Stewards of Children is an evidence-informed, award-winning two-hour training that teaches adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. Through interviews with child sexual abuse survivors, experts, and treatment providers, Stewards of Children teaches adults practical actions they can take to reduce instances of child sexual abuse in their organizations, families and communities.

It can be presented to community members, schools, sports leagues, faith centers, youth serving organizations, and state agencies – basically to any adult or organization concerned about the well being of children.

Unlike some other child sexual abuse prevention programs that focus on educating children about concepts like good touch-bad touch, stranger danger, tricky people, etc., Stewards of Children focuses on adult education because ultimately, it is adults’ responsibility to keep children safe. This program’s practical, five-step approach is widely applicable and provides adults with the tools to protect the children in their lives and youth serving organizations.

Just be sure to let us know (training@buncombepfc.org). What is the refund policy? Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for trainings, unless Buncombe Partnership for Children cancels the event. Instead, we do offer ‘credits’ that can be applied to future trainings you wish to attend. To receive credits for future training you must cancel at least 24 hours in advance. You are responsible for contacting us should you wish you transfer your credit to another training. If you do not have a credit card or feel uncomfortable using a credit card online, consider asking a friend to register you and giving them cash.

I’m going to be running late. Can I still attend? Unfortunately, DCDEE rules do not allow for credit to be given to participants that miss more than 15 minutes of a training. The participant is welcome to still attend, but CHCs or CEUs cannot be given.
