Asheville Primary School
(Light lunch provided)
It is well known that family engagement is a huge part of child success in early childhood settings and beyond. With all of the hats early childhood professionals have to wear, figuring out how to support and involve families in our centers with intentionality can be a challenge. Preschool and child care centers are often a familiy’s first encounter on a long journey for their child’s school path, so we all want to do our best at “getting it right.” How can we get families to trust us, work with us, and to advocate for their child? Come hear Parent/Family Engagement Specialist with Asheville City Schools, Marta Alcala Williams, as she discusses going beyond newsletters and sign ins to develop meaningful, reciprocated relationships with families.
