Starting a Family Child Care Home Informational Session
Did you know that in the past year, Buncombe County/Asheville has lost close to 130 child care slots? Families typically have to get on long wait lists to find child care, sometimes before their babies are even born. As a result, these caretakers have to send their children to neighbors or other family, change working hours, or even leave the workforce all together, which has huge impacts on our community. You can help meet the needs or our community and also provide income and support for yourself, right in your own home. Whether you are already providing care for children in your home and are unlicensed, or you have never done so but are curious about the pathways to business, come to this informational session! We will provide information on starting a licensed family child care home, as well as provide opportunities for a question and answer session. This is a great precursor to determining whether to attend a Family Child Care Pre-licensing Workshop.

Is my registration transferable?
Things happen! If for some reason you are unable to attend this training after you have registered, you may send someone in your place! Just be sure to let us know (firstname.lastname@example.org).
What is the refund policy?
Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for trainings, unless Buncombe Partnership for Children cancels the event. Instead, we do offer ‘credits’ that can be applied to future trainings you wish to attend. To receive credits for future training you must cancel at least 24 hours in advance. You are responsible for contacting us should you wish you transfer your credit to another training.
Can I pay with cash or check?
If your organization must pay by check, please contact Stevie Alverson at 828.407.2058 or email@example.com. All checks are due 72 hours in advance unless otherwise agreed upon.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept cash. If you do not have a credit card or feel uncomfortable using a credit card online, consider asking a friend to register you and giving them cash.
I’m going to be running late. Can I still attend?
Unfortunately, DCDEE rules do not allow for credit to be given to participants that miss more than 15 minutes of a training. The participant is welcome to still attend, but CHCs or CEUs cannot be given.
This is a free training. Do I need to cancel or inform someone of my absence if I am unable to attend?
Yes! We host and staff our trainings depending on the numbers of attendees, so please make us aware if you are unable to attend the event, even if it is a free training.
