Stewards of Children is the only evidence-informed, third-party evaluated child sexual abuse prevention training of its kind, and is nationally available in both English and Spanish. It can be taken online, or through a facilitator-led group session. I am a Darkness to Light authorized facilitator of this program, and I believe this training would benefit your staff, volunteers, and community. It can be administered to community members, schools, sports leagues, faith centers, youth serving organizations, and state agencies – basically to any adult or organization concerned about the well being of children.
Unlike some other child sexual abuse prevention programs that focus on educating children about concepts like good touch-bad touch, stranger danger, tricky people, etc., Stewards of Children focuses on adult education because ultimately, it is adults’ responsibility to keep children safe. This training approaches the difficult topic of child sexual abuse in a way that is inspiring, not fear-focused or depressing. It does not feature perpetrators of abuse, but instead uses a combination of advice from field experts, stories from adult survivors, and insight from concerned parents. This program’s practical, five-step approach is widely applicable and provides adults with the tools to protect the children in their lives and youth serving organizations.

Is my registration transferable?
Things happen! If for some reason you are unable to attend this training after you have registered, you may send someone in your place! Just be sure to let us know (firstname.lastname@example.org).
What is the refund policy?
Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for trainings, unless Buncombe Partnership for Children cancels the event. Instead, we do offer ‘credits’ that can be applied to future trainings you wish to attend. To receive credits for future training you must cancel at least 24 hours in advance. You are responsible for contacting us should you wish you transfer your credit to another training.
Can I pay with cash or check?
If your organization must pay by check, please contact Stevie Alverson at 828.407.2058 or email@example.com. All checks are due 72 hours in advance unless otherwise agreed upon.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept cash. If you do not have a credit card or feel uncomfortable using a credit card online, consider asking a friend to register you and giving them cash.
I’m going to be running late. Can I still attend?
Unfortunately, DCDEE rules do not allow for credit to be given to participants that miss more than 15 minutes of a training. The participant is welcome to still attend, but CHCs or CEUs cannot be given.
