I’m going to be running late. Can I still attend?
The Department of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) rules do not allow for credit to be given to participants that miss more than 15 minutes of a training. The participant is welcome to still attend, but CHCs or CEUs cannot be given.
I need to leave a training early. Can I still get credit?
DCDEE rules do not allow for credit to be given to participants that miss more than 15 minutes of a training. The participant is welcome to still attend, but CHCs or CEUs cannot be given. Certificates will be given out at the end of the training and you must be present to receive it.
Is my registration transferable?
Things happen! If for some reason you are unable to attend this training after you have registered, you may send someone in your place! Just be sure to let us know.
What is the refund policy?
Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for trainings, unless Buncombe Partnership for Children cancels the event. Instead, we do offer credit that can be applied to future trainings you wish to attend. To receive credit for future training you must cancel at least 24 hours in advance. You are responsible for contacting us should you wish you transfer your credit to another training.
What is your inclement weather policy?
Buncombe Partnership for Children follows the AB Tech schedule when it comes to closings and delays due to inclement weather. Please stay updated using the WLOS weather web page. If AB Tech classes (day or evening) are cancelled, we are also closed. In the event a training is cancelled due to inclement weather, we will reschedule and transfer your training fee to the new date.
Can I pay with cash or check?
If you or your organization must pay by check, please contact Lissy Gloeckler to receive registration information. All checks are due 72 hours in advance. We do not accept cash.
The training says it’s full. Can I still attend?
Most trainings have limited space available. It is recommended that you register at least ten days to a week before a training in order to be most likely to have a space available. Call (828.407.2058) or email us to be put on a waitlist in case anyone calls to cancel their registration.
Where are the trainings located?
Locations are listed in the training event description! Let us know if you have any questions.
We have several staff members who need a specific training. Will you come to our center?
We are happy to come facilitate most trainings and workshops at your center! Contact Lissy Gloeckler with inquiries and to schedule dates and times. Please keep in mind we require 4 weeks notice and a minimum of 8 participants for on-site trainings. While some trainings can be done with no per-participant cost when coupled with a Technical Assistance agreement, all trainings will be charged a $20.00 on-site administrative fee. Certain trainings, such as Playground Safety, can be done on-site with a per-participant fee. CPR/First Aid requires a minimum of 8 students, maximum of 16, and the on-site training cost is $69.00 per participant to factor in travel, transportation, and set up/break down of the course materials.
I have lost my certificate for a training that I attended. Can I get another one?
In the case that you have lost your certificate please call or email us Lissy Gloeckler at 828.407.2058 or lissy@buncombepfc.org to request a new one. We will need the name of the training and the month and year that the training took place. Replacement certificates are only available for trainings that have taken place in the last three years.
Look up your first aid certificate.
Can directors attend trainings for free?
Yes! Directors can attend ANY training for free if one or more of your staff attends the same training (does not apply to special events such as CLASS Observer Training, MMCI, CCBB, CPR, etc.). Contact us at training@buncombepfc.org or 828.407.2058 to reserve your free registration.
Where can I find out when a specific training will be?
Look Up all the details on upcoming trainings.
The majority of our events will happen between August and May. The training calendar will usually be announced in late July for the fall and late November for the spring. Sign up for our mailing list if you would like the calendar and updates sent to you directly.

My training certificate is about to expire and I need to renew it now! What do I do if BPFC is not offering the class I need by my deadline?
We do our best to meet the needs of the entire county; however, our training calendar won’t always be able to meet everyone’s needs. We recommend being proactive about training credit expiration dates and planning ahead for when a certificate needs to be renewed.
You can also check with our neighboring CCR&R agencies and their training calendars: Madison county, Henderson county or Southwestern Child Development.
I’m interested in facilitating trainings with BPFC. Who do I talk to?
We are always looking for people interested in providing training opportunities for early childhood educators in our county! Contact us at training@buncombepfc.org or 828.407.2058 for information on compensation for trainings and needs for the county.
