LEARN: Resources for Resilience
14-hour online training for caregivers
Resources for Resilience is sharing practical tools to support North Carolina families and caregivers. Their easy-to-use strategies are for everyone as we work to build our resilience and help each other stay healthy and connected during these tough times. This fall, you are invited to their free, virtual events.
Reconnect for Resilience trainings offer caretakers a set of easy-to-use tools to stay well in the face of adversity. In this 14-hour virtual class, adults learn what happens to their own – and their students’ or children’s – brains and bodies when they are stressed. There are a limited number of free tablets with internet connections that BPFC can give away to help with access.
To register, click the button above to indicate your interest or contact Deanna LaMotte at deanna@buncombepfc.org or 828.357.7503.
The full 14-hour trainings are taking place October-December in the following formats:
- 4 consecutive half-day classes (mornings 9-12:30)
- 4 consecutive half-day classes (afternoons 12:30-4)
- 2 Saturdays in a row- (8 hours each day 8-4)
This training has completely shifted my approach to parenting and being present with my children. We all still have bad days but, when we do, we have more tools in our toolbox to connect with each other and move on. My kids frequently ask me to use tools with them or remind me to use the tools for myself when I’m gettng irritated. Reconnect for Resilience has been a true blessing for myself and my family. Thank you so much.

DESTRESS: Listening Circles
1-hour drop-in forums for caregivers and educators
Resources for Resilience Listening Circles are an online forum where parents, caregivers, teachers, and school staff can connect with each other and talk about what is stressful for them right now. Our trained facilitators then offer concrete tools designed to help them de-stress and highlight what is getting them through this time of individual and community difficulty.
Beginning October 5, Listening Circles will be available throughout the day, Monday through Friday. Participants are welcome to drop in on any day or at any time, and they may participate as often as they would like. There is no registration required nor is there a pre-requisite to attend. To access the full fall calendar, including links to each Zoom session, please visit tiny.cc/RFRCalendar.
